Usher is back baby. Het R&B icon maakt het alvast wat warmer met ‘GLU’, zijn eerste release in drie jaar tijd.
Bijna 20 jaar na de release van ‘Yeah’, doet hij de samenwerking met Lil Jon dunnetjes over. “I just love that glu / That slides down you whenever we start touchin’ / It gets all on you, all on me from fu**in’ / That’s when that glu done got you,” zingt Usher op het nummer. Sean Garrett horen we ook.
“GLU is such an authentic song for this time,” zegt Sean Garrett over de track. “Based on the feeling of the record, there’s a lot of soul in this song. It’s been a long time since we’ve heard such a super sexy record that felt very seductive, and this vocal performance is at its finest.”
Usher is momenteel druk aan het werk om de laatste hand te leggen aan zijn nieuwe album. Het is zeven jaar geleden dat er een album uitkwam. “Of course Usher and I are also working on doing an unbelievable album together,” zegt Garrett. “We’re following this record up with a couple of monsters for the clubs and the world!”
‘GLU’ is Ushers eerste release sinds zijn partnership met Gamma, het bedrijf dat is opgericht door Larry Jackson, voormalig topman bij Apple Music.
