Janet Jackson gaat terug in de tijd. In haar documentaire ‘JANET JACKSON’ spreekt ze onder meer over haar broer.
Zo zou Michael haar onder meer hebben gepest om haar gewicht. “There were times when Mike used to tease me and call me names like Pig, horse, slaughter hog, cow,” zegt ze. “He would laugh about it and I’d laugh too, but then there was somewhere down inside that it would hurt.”
Volgens Janet zouden de issues met haar overgewicht zijn begonnen sinds ze in ‘Good Times’ speelde, toen ze 11 jaar oud was. “I did ‘Good Times’ and that’s the beginning of having weight issues and the way I looked at myself,” vertelt Janet. “I’m an emotional eater, so when I get stressed or something is really bothering me, it comforts me.”
Ook vertelt Janet over de tijd waarin haar broer werd beschuldigd van kindermishandeling en mogelijk verkrachting. “It was frustrating for me,” zegt Janet erover. “We have our own separate lives and even though he’s my brother, that has nothing to do with me. But I wanted to be there for him, to support him as much as I possibly could.”
De docu is vrijdag te zien op Lifetime en A&E. In de documentaire, die vier uur duurt, zien we ook Mariah Carey, Ciara, Jermaine Dupri en Q-Tip verschijnen.
